CSUR is a wonderful story! It’s about the power of citizens, people who come together to envision a better world. In 2006, residents of several rural municipalities in Vaudreuil-Soulanges were unable to connect to the networks of major telecommunications companies. Driven by determination, the cooperative’s four founders, Benoît Guichard, Guy Guénette, Lise Couët, and Norman Molhant decided to approach life differently and used their imagination to establish an independent high-speed internet distribution network. Their vision extended beyond a telecommunications network; they sought to create a cooperative world based on the values of social solidarity and sustainable development.

Always attentive to the needs of its community, CSUR became, in 2014, the first multisectoral cooperative in Quebec, expanding its activities to include food services that allow residents and businesses to source local and eco-friendly products.

Innovative and thriving, the cooperative has continued to grow since its inception and helps build a connected community. Together, we are stronger; together, we go further!
